“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you” (Matthew 28). Teaching people who don’t know about Jesus or Christianity is just one of the many things that the Missioners of Christ do. There are many places around the world that don’t have people sharing in the good news, simply because they’ve never heard of Jesus. The Missioners of Christ make it their mission to inform them while also helping those who do know about Jesus to experience their own faith. They live out God’s message to be disciples of Jesus by focusing on youth and young adults, strengthening the members of Christians, and primarily serving outside their community.
It is important to remember that the youth of today is the future of tomorrow. This is precisely the reason why the Missioners of Christ reach out to the younger members of society. The youth ministers that founded the organization followed the words of Pope John Paul II. His teaching helped shape their approach to the ministry to “strive to love the youth entrusted to

says that “there is power in unity and there is power in numbers”. The Missioners of Christ believe this and work to bring more people together in Jesus’ name. The two primary ways that they accomplish this is by their Domestic Mission Trip and their Foreign Mission Trip. These expeditions give youth the chance to engage themselves with people outside of their normal neighborhood. Specifically, on their 2015 Domestic Mission Trip, a group of Missioners of Christ went to migrant camps where many of the people didn’t speak much English. They held Mass in different languages for them and introduced a Vacation Bible School for the children there. The people at these camps didn’t have the resources or materials they needed to celebrate Mass like we do. The Missioners brought the Word of God and the teachings of Jesus to the migrants, so that Christ’s message to be disciples can be further passed

Forrest McPhail teaches how to become affective missionary from the scratch: from the preparation to lead a church at the mission field. Furthermore, this book not only teaches how to make people to become true Christians, but also how to overcome their bad situation by the biblical perspectives. Moreover, adding the author’s personal experiences at the mission fields made me to see what are the things Cambodians are going through to be a true Christians, and how the author dealt with those people to make them believe God. As Forrest McPhail mentioned in his book, understanding the people and the culture are the most important aspect for missions.…

Catholic related schools, parish communities and other religious orders have been providing shelter and helping refugees to have a formal education and supply them with decent form of living. Parishes live out Jesus’ teachings from the gospel by showing them friendship and making them feel welcomed in the community. These Christian organisations show their hospitality and compassion by actually going into asylum seeker communities and being supportive and by taking action. Religious organisations also hold educational campaigns (refer to figure 1.2). These campaigns consist of letting society understand the extents and issues in which asylum seekers face just to seek a safe environment to society.…

As a minister, I feel it is my job to communicate, in word and deed, the unchanging Gospel to the modern generation in ways that help people to understand Christ clearly. Early on in my Christian walk it was apparent to not only me, but also to those in leadership roles within the church – elders, ministers, etc. – that there was a call upon my life to enter the ministry. I was quickly taken under the guidance of the lead Preacher in my local…

Just, as they use stories and testimonials to relate to situations in school, this method is very effective when bringing someone to the love of Christ. Many look at the Holy Bible as a book of stories, or a book of rules also depending on their beliefs. A youth minister’s job would be showing their adolescent youth that those stories have youth just like the teenagers in them. They must find or create an interest in for them to want to receive such a powerful…

Mack and Leann 's Guide to Short-Term Missions was a excellent book. As a husband and wife team Mack and Leann Stiles have directed short-term missions for 14 years. Although the book was wonderful it consisted largely of personal stories from Mack and Leann 's many missions trips. These stories were wonderful and gave great insight into the daily life and logistics of being a missionary. While I did find these stories to be funny, insightful, and educating they are not my stories and I feel I would in no way do them justice were I to try to re-relate them.…

Gordon’s purpose in writing The Master Plan of Evangelism was to examine the evangelism principles used by Jesus Christ (called “The Master” by Dr. Gordon in the book) during the days of His flesh. Dr. Coleman emphasizes the fact that his purpose was not to study and write about the methods used by Jesus but rather the principles which governed the methods. The Gospel accounts of Jesus’ evangelistic ministry are the single source used by Dr. Coleman in this volume. Jesus’ plan while He walked the earth was the focused mission of the salvation of the world.…

I asked myself the question “how can we make a long-term effect on a short-term mission trip?” This idea centered around the lessons we were teaching the children throughout the day. I noticed that the children we well informed about God and how to become a Christian. Pastor Vernon gives them lessons every week, probably the same lessons we were giving them. The children were hungry for more than a preschool version of the bible.…

When asked what are his goals for his youth ministry my old youth pastor, Mr. Beardsley, told me, “I want students to have a personal relationship with Jesus. Simply knowing about him is not enough, I want them to know him! To experience his presence and voice in their own lives and to recognize that they have a story to tell, a story that is a part of God’s story for mankind. As far as knowledge goes, I just want them to have an intimate knowledge of who he is, what he has done and how he calls them to live. There is a lot that goes into this knowledge, but that is really dependent on where they are at and how committed they are to learning.…

Often missionary work is associated, if not directly tied, to humanitarian work in areas of crisis. However, it’s important to differentiate to the two and how they could both be used to help create a balance. It is important for individuals to clearly identify whether they are an aid worker or missionaries so, that it clarify what types of missions you have for the people. However, it wouldn’t hurt to share similar agendas to help them get back on their feet and start the development. With the advancement of women in the workforce and absentee fathers the church was needed more than ever for the development of families. Agencies and non-for-profits were created to support the youth because the adults were the sole focus of the church on at that time. The concept of children’s church was introduced and a major conflict of it was that parents believed that the responsibility of spiritual growth was now the church’s task. Also, there were church professionals that were hired for the first time, including Lead Pastors, Youth Pastors, Worship Directors, and other positions.…
