Transgender males and females are faced with inequalities that prevent them from living lives that the cisgender community would deem normal. For example, deciding on which bathroom to use as a transgender individual becomes a much tougher decision than is normal, and is often a sensitive area of discussion. In schools particularly, the staff and students do not want transgender females to use the female restroom, but using the male restroom will most certainly result in bullying from their peers. The difficulty in adapting to societies standards for what men and woman should be leaves many trans-gendered people feeling isolated and out of place. 41% of trans-gendered people have attempted suicide, a rate that is higher than any other group. Abuse is not limited to any one group or one particular gender. The truth is that abuse can affect anyone, but that those that are viewed as different or as freaks are the ones that suffer from abusive actions the most. In order for American society to overcome social problems is to do away with stigmas and standards that segregate and blame those who do not fit societies
