Abused and Battered; The Facts of Domestic Violence
Domestic violence is a very dangerous and violent crime that needs to be stopped, and needs to be noticed more.There 's many people being abused each year and everyday.This can be prevented and should be prevented. Millions of families and people are hurt by this each year. Theres boys and girls who are hurt, families are torn apart and people are killed and you could help prevent this, by just paying attention and taking a little bit of your time by bringing awareness. The NNEDV does not need money or large sponsors but need people who will bring awareness and will show they care, and will look for the signs of domestic and sexual abuse. Nearly 1 and 3 million women are victims of domestic and sexual abuse each year.(NNEDV Factsheet, Chen M.j ,J.Stevens 2013, pg 1). The number for people who are abused by ex partners each year is much larger than the fact before, about 7 million people are abused, harassed or stalked by a former partner each year. The youth is also impacted by domestic violence. one out of every four girls suffer from being victims of domestic violence before the age of eighteen. This stat is slightly less for boys as one of every six boys are impacted before the age of eighteen It doesn 't just impact the people who are victims of it, it impacts their friends and families. 15.5 million children are exposed to domestic violence each year. These kids are impacted greatly by it the majority of the kids who are impacted by it are more likely to attempt suicide, abuse drugs and alcohol, join in on things such as sexual teenage prostitution and commit some type of sexual assault crimes. Boys who are exposed to domestic abuse are four times more likely to commit a domestic abuse crime. A lot of women per year have been hurt and families have been crushed by domestic violence and you could help by bringing awareness. The best help you could bring it by bringing awareness, many many women are impacted by this each year and you have the opportunity to slow down the rate and help(NCADV, Nov 13 2015).The famous rapper 2pac said one thing that a lot of the people and men need to recognize, he said “A woman brought you into this world, so you have no right to disrespect one.” But a lot of people unfortunately do not go by this saying. I want you to think about something, I want you to think about where we would be without women in this world, I want you to think about who went through pain during your birth, I want you to think about all the women in this world, think about how anyone would be here without them. I want you to think about your mom being in the shoes of someone who 's suffering with domestic violence, it 's hard to think about , if your mom was in the situation or anyone you were close with you would want help and to spread awareness, so why don 't you do that and help the people who helped bring people into this world.
