NCCC scored a five in the area where staff/physicians are prepared and supported in family centered care. Nurses are encouraged by providers to call when families are at the bedside. Families in the NCCC are always encouraged by our physicians to incorporate families during care time and are called whenever families have questions or concerns.
Environment and Design NCCC scored four and five in the domain of Environment and Design. When the NCCH opened in 2001, the NCCC was moved into a free standing facility within the hospital. Families were consulted in the set up and design, which is reflected in the child friendly paintings on the walls.
