1) Humphries, T. Bridges. Effectiveness of Dolphin-Assisted Therapy as a Behavioral Intervention for Young Children with Disabilities. Bridges. 1: 1-10. Humphries discusses throughout this journal what dolphin assisted therapy (DAT) is and some of the results from previously done experiments. It contained lots of information about the background information of DAT, what it does, the methods, and results of the experiments themselves. Humphries, Mohamad Shaifudin Bin MdYusof and Noel Kok Hwee Chia all agree that DAT works, and can be a great way to help children with disabilities. "DOLPHIN ENCOUNTER FOR SPECIAL CHILDREN (DESC) PROGRAM: EFFECTIVENESS OF DOLPHIN-ASSISTED THERAPY FOR CHILDREN WITH AUTISM." International Journal of Special Edu. N.p., 2012. Web. Mohamad Shaifudin Bin MdYusof and Noel Kok Hwee Chia had a lot more positivity on DAT versus Marino and Lilienfeld. They noted more about how dolphins can help humans and that they have an intuition in a sense that they like to help us and nurture us when were in need. I used this one specific quote at the beginning of page five for that reason, “(quoted by Mohamad Shaifudin Bin MdYusof and Noel Kok) Moreover, dolphins are said to be particularly perceptive to the needs of individuals with disabilities, and as a result, they respond to such individuals in a very supportive manner” (McKinney et al., 2001; Simpson, 2005). But they also mention that given DAT is a great thing, there do need to be a couple more kinks to be worked out before it can be phenomenal. I really like that because that’s how I feel about DAT as well. It’s amazing but with the kinks taken care of with would be perfect. This journal was a 10 because although they recognized some of the flaws with this experiment they didn’t come down so harshly like some others have done. The organization was great, presented its data in an appealing manner, and was well thought
