Dollywood is an amusement park visited by millions of people each year. Dollywood has had many names throughout its existence. It is the home to many theatres and rollercoasters. There is a wide variety of food and dining to choose from. Dollywood’s name has had many transitions in the past such as, Rebel Railroad, Goldrush Junction, Silver Dollar CIty, and what it is now known as Dollywood. In 1961, Rebel Railroad opened. Rebel Railroad included, a steam train, general store, blacksmith shop, and a saloon. Next, Goldrush Junction opened in 1966. There was many different things you could do at Goldrush Junction such as, a pool, dancing, and a steam train. Next, it was named Silver Dollar City which had 12 venues, 30 rides and attractions, 12 restaurants, and 60 shops. Currently, the park goes by Dollywood which has more than 40 rides, more than 20 different shows throughout the season, and 5 festivals. Dollywood offers a wide variety of shows and festivals. Wild Eagle is the first wing coaster in America. Mystery Mine is a Euro-Fighter roller coaster. Thunderhead opened on April 3, 2004, and goes 53.7MPH. Tennessee Tornado was Dollywood’s first major coaster expansion which opened in April 17,1999. Blazing Fury is a dark, enclosed multi-scene coaster. Blazing Fury is only considered a roller coaster because of its three drops. Dollywood’s Firechaser Express is the only roller coaster at Dollywood that has 2 launches. The first launch is at the beginning of the ride and it goes from 0 to 16mph in just 1.1 seconds. The second launch shoots you backwards and it goes from 0 to 20mph in just 2 seconds.
