Dollar Tree has been experiencing a consistent rise in sales numbers over the last few years. In this year’s first quarter results, Dollar Tree managed to reach the 20 billion dollars sales landmark. Most of Dollar Tree’s success is owed to its growth strategies. Less than a year ago, the company was involved in a strategic alliance with Family Dollar. The company has been able to experience immense success from the completion of this strategic partnership. As illustrated by Parnell (2014), a strategic alliance is one of the most effective ways for a firm to improve its economic performance.
