First of all, do pets know their names? Most cats and dogs that are used to hearing their name know it. Although this does not apply to all cats and dogs, most of them (especially cats) will look up or even come to you when their name is called. People can, of course, train a pet other than a cat or dog to know its name, but they are the most common pets to know their names. But how? A lot of people thought they could, and they were right. Some people say it’s like a sixth sense your pet has. There have been so many examples of where a human is sad or angry, and the pet will do things as if they are trying to comfort them. So if they can sense your emotions and they try to do something about it, then you know they care about you. Doesn't that make you feel so good? To know that your pet loves you and cares about you. Scientists and vets have worked together to find out that there is an “emotion detector” inside the animal's brain.
