Dogs are Better than Cats

Which is better, a cat or a dog. The answer is dogs. Dogs are a man's best friend because they are simply the most loyal, obedient, and awesome animal to own. They are a better house pet and useful for practical reasons.

Dogs actually love you and show affection to you. Dogs need to be social and loving because dogs are pack animals, they hunt, eat, groom each other. When you own a dog a dog sees you as a part of the pack and thinks of you as family. Hurting the family is out of the question. Cats on the other hand live isolated in the wild. Lions and tigers spend time with the mate but mainly they hunt and eat alone. So they sometimes can be seen in groups but they don’t really understand the concept of a pack.

In the United States, there are approximately 74-96 million owned cats in comparison to the 70-80 million owned dogs. Meaning that you are more likely to own a cat. I never understood this as a dog lover, because cats seem to just be a “lazy person’s dog.” Cats seem to lack all the good qualities of a dog such as: loyalty, obedience, playfulness, and so forth. Those that I know that own cats just seem to like them because they are easier to take care of, and that they require less attention than a dog.…

It is said that a dog is a man’s best friend, but if dogs have claimed that title what is left for cats? I would agree with this statement of a dog’s profound loyalty to man if it weren’t for a little black cat that came into my life at just the right moment. The bond between me and my cat was one of the only reasons I was able to get through a very rough patch in my life. It was the summer of 2014 and things just weren’t going right for my family.…

Some people might believe that cats are better than dogs but it could be argued that dogs are better. My first reason is cats always claw onto you furniture and...they just ruin couches clothes and many other things, one time I had a cat and when i came home cotton was everywhere and you don’t wanna get to attached to the cat because if the cat does that and your parents find out BAM the cats out. My second reason is everytime they need a bath they always claw you, get out and track water all through the house and that makes everyone mad and someone could get hurt if they slip on the water they tracked in the the floors, don’t want that! My third reason is because they always sleep and if you got a cat for a child they would be sad that the cat isn’t waking up, the child could get hurt if they try to wake the cat up and get…
