It is important for the dog to get along with the handler because the officer or handler only get one dog to be their fulltime partner so both dog and handler must be able to work together and understand each other. The dog also gets to know the character of the police or handler (master dog). When living together, the dog can roam the house but still has to follow orders. Thirty-four deaths have occurred because of dog bites. Eighty-two percent of those deaths are caused by pit bulls. That does not convince one that pit bulls are not aggressive. Pit bulls of course are aggressive, but blaming them for that aggression is what is wrong. Even though people stereotype pit bulls as dangerous, it does not mean they are accurate.…

The lack of loving touch could have contributed to the perpetrator’s act of noxious touch which had negative effects to the dog’s mental and physical health. Common steps for helping victims recover from noxious touch include giving loving touch, getting adjusted to the surroundings, and slowly reintegrating into what is considered a normal dog life. The potential for recovery differs for each of the dogs’ conditions, and unfortunately not every dog is able to recover. Noxiously touching animals in Virginia results in legal consequences such as serving time in prison. Noxious touch on animals is viewed as a threat to human members of society in social…

In the argument about dog parks for residents with pet dogs, I totally agree that they should be provided with a park for their animals. I agree because, i dont think a simple walk around the neighborhood is not to much exercise on a daily. Exercise is important to dogs' mental and physical health. Also another reason would be because according to (ASPCA) "dogs that dont get exercise can act out at home by barking or destroying things at home. Socializing is important too.…

This is infact a myth with little to no truth behind it for multiple reasons. One of these reasons being, pit bulls are on the list of most loyal family dogs. What parents need to understand is that pit bulls get excited easily and children- unless they’re taught do not know how to properly interact with dogs. Pit bulls attack or react in spite of reaction to something that might seem testing to the dog, or scare them. Children can do these things without even meaning to and regardless of the type of dog all children need to properly be taught how to interact with dogs.…

It’s good to teach your pup good manners rather than letting it develop bad habits and bad behavior. The third one is not using a crate from the start. It will be easier to supervise and potty train. The fourth one is repeating the commands because if you do so, it will start to think that all those “comes” means “come”.…

Dog’s are notoriously full of energy and most use their mouths to explore their environment and this, coupled with boredom can manifest itself in disruptive behaviors such as destroying your favorite pair of shoes. Of course you can’t always be around to keep your pet entertained, but you can limit the amount of time that you leave them on their own and this will limit their destructive behavior. If you have no choice but to leave your pooch alone for a day then you need to be prepared to provide them with plenty of things to keep them entertained, this includes chews and toys. We all know that dogs love to chew but not many of us know the importance of giving our dogs the right things to…

On the article “A Change of Heart about Animals”, Jeremy Rifkin argues that animals should be treated humanely because, according to science, the differences between animals and humans are less than what we think. He believes that animals should be given the rights that protect them from inhumane treatment and human consumption. He is telling us that we have to give them the same rights that a human possesses. In affirmation to Jeremy Rifkin, we should treat animals humanely because they also have a heart that can feel pain and a brain that can think.…

Even though it’s not the best example to compare children to domestic pets, it’s basically the same concept. What would you do if your dog isn’t acting right and jumps on your couch at home? If you ask this question to some, they will say that they would put a shock collar on their pet. Every time your dog jumps on the couch, you press the button on the remote that triggers the shock collar and your dog gets a nice jolt. Eventually, the dog will put two and two together and notice that every time it does something it’s not supposed to, it will feel pain.…
