The changes in hormone level during the estrous cycle can lead to frequent urinations that your dog will not be able to control.
• Marking his territory. An intact male dog may urinate frequently not because he is pregnant (as if it’s possible!), but because he is marking his territory. Marking his territory means that he owns it and no one should dare coming near it. This territorial marking may also be a male’s response to a female dog in heat nearby.
• Psychogenic polydipsia. Psychogenic polydipsia is a behavioral problem in dogs. Dogs with this problem tend to drnk water compulsively which will obviously result to excessive urination to get rid of the water too. Though the exact cause of psychogenic polydipsia is not known, there are theories which states that this might be because of some stress or boredom that the dog is feeling. In this case, it is best to distract the dog by playing games or taking him out for walk to help solve the issue.
• Age. Age is also a factor on why does a dog urinates frequently. Puppies often pee more than adult dogs do. They can pee every two hours, especially during the times when they are being house trained. Meanwhile, old dogs also need to urinate more frequently
