Because I was only twelve years old, I thought that taking care of a dog was easier said than done.

When I was twelve, and in the seventh grade, I always looked for ways to earn money. I wanted to save up ninety-two dollars and sixty-three cents, so that I could buy myself a new bike. So when my neighbor, Ms. Anderson, asked if I could take care of her pug, Candy, I automatically said yes to the opportunity.

When I walked into the Anderson household, Ms. Anderson thanked me and explained that she would only be gone for a couple of hours. She then led me to a small room where she handed me a list of things to do.
