Canines and humans have coexisted for at least 16,000 years (Yirka). Their original relationship was two hunters working to survive, but as time went on humanity's fierce killer companion became the soft and loving pet seen today. Recent decades have altered that bond even more for those who truly need help, but at an enormous price. The people with disabilities who need an assistance dog for any reason must spend thousands of dollars for a company to raise the perfect companion.
