The idea of the American Dream started at 1931. Does the American Dream still exist in the present? This question must be answered from today's reality. Luckily, there are two writers that addressed that topic and helped us grasp the idea of what is the American Dream today. Karen Olsson’s, in her article “Up Against Walmart”, argues that Walmart mistreats their employees, and promotes inequality. Additionally, Olsson quotes former employees and shows statistics to prove Walmart unfairness. Another writer who addresses the American Dream topic more specifically is Brandon King, in his article, “The American Dream: Dead, Alive, or on Hold?” argues that the American Dream still exists, but not as we know it, or not as it was in 1931 when the
