Does Technology Make You Smarter

Think about this. For example, you are in class and you need to research something what do you do? Now the easiest way to find some information would be just to search it up right? Correct finding something online is the same thing as finding something inside of a book. Using the internet and other technology's just make it easier to find information, instead of flipping through a book to find some information.
Now I'm not saying that technology is the best thing ever created. Sometimes people should use the other method. Why? you ask because the internet could be telling you the wrong information. Not everything on the internet is true. For example, say the the actual colour of the moon red, but in reality the colour of the moon is white and cream. Now if you would find a book about space or the moon you would find that the moon is white, grey and cream.
Think about this, make a website and put some false information on it. Which will take you about 1 or 2 days. It's basically you sitting behind your computer screen and typing false information. Now if you write a book about what colour is the moon, you would spend more time because one, your writing and two, you have spend time on spelling, punctuation and a title page. This could take you about

In some cases it does make you smarter, but at the same time it makes you less aware of the things and people around you. Less communication, less spending time with others because of texting. But in some cases technology helps you research things quicker. Also, helps you send import messages and emails faster than ever. Technology is something that some people really enjoy and some people really don't have an opinion on it. Thinking about this right now it's scary what life was back in the 1800's with no internet and no technology. Technology is bases on what you. If you like it you like it, and if you don't you don't it's that

How has technology changed since the days of the typewriter and scribbling on leaves in the old days? In recent discussions of how technology is dominating the lives of people today, a controversial issue has been whether technology makes us lazier and less prone to find information we need without the web. On one hand, some argue that the internet is a extremely useful tool that can be used to very efficiently obtain the information that is needed. On the other hand, however, some argue that the internet is becoming the center of many people’s lives and they’re beginning to become dependent on it. The best perspective on this issue is reflected by Nicholas Carr in his book The Shallows when he writes, “The price we pay to assume technology’s…

Do you feel less intelligent after using the internet? Do you feel that the internet took skills from you? Nicholas Carr, in his article Is Google Making Us Stupid?, claims that through the use of the internet our concentration lessens, as well as our ability to read deeply. He also implies the easily available information makes men intellectually lazy and less studious, in turn weakening their minds. Although I agree with Carr up to a point, I cannot accept his overriding assumption that the internet is completely to blame when people experience these problems.…

Nicholas Carr discusses the negative effects of technology in his essay, “Is Google Making Us Stupid?” First, he points out how constant technology use causes the mind to change. In discussing his mind, Carr states how it’s “changing. [He’s] not thinking the way [he] used to think” (315). In other words, Carr believes that the prolonged hours spent on the Internet correlates with his loss of concentration after reading a few pages of an article or a novel.…

We can learn information quickly and easily by typing the topic into the web. We can also communicate with others and find explanations for our problems. The problem is we should not forget our old roots and attempt to use them, so we can have a feel of how they solved their situations. We can open a book that interests you and read, instead of deciding to watch the movie and believing that they are the same, detail-wise. We can look up new words in dictionary, instead of opening up Google and typing words up in search bar.…

Now that technology has become a huge part in our society, it is very easy to get information fast from the internet, so people turn to it for that reason. “Research that once required days in the stacks or periodical rooms of libraries can now be done in minutes” (314). People don’t go to the library as much as they used to back in the day to do research because information can be attained by the touch of a button. People rely on technology for anything nowadays whether it is for the forecast, research, or communication. Carr suggests to readers that the internet is something to rely on while Thompson disagrees that people should not always rely on it.…

I agree that technology has improved out lives in a positive way. However, to say that technology in and of itself is making us “smarter” is a misconception. The question I ask is this: Has technology improved our brain’s function, its abilities, or its capacity in any way? I would argue that it has not. Technology has enhanced our productivity and given us the ability to store information externally, but humans apart from machines have not gotten smarter.…

Human Being are Becoming Slaves of Modern Technology Have you seen how people today function? If you have you would see that we do not function well, especially without technology. Technology has been taking over enough to where we can not be but one second away from it. We have become too reliant on it, if it were to be taken from us we would not last long. Even though people think technology is helping us in many areas, if you take a closer look you would see that it really is not.…
