Does Substrate Concentration Affect Enzyme Function

Enzymes are catalysts that contain proteins. Catalysts are the part of the product that speeds up a reaction. Only reactions can occur when the right enzyme ends up finds the right material to produce a process. A low pH is a good environment for an enzyme as well as a low temperature. After the reaction, no enzymes are used up. They can be used again and again in reactions, once an enzyme is used in one reaction, it can be used in another. Enzymes are made up of proteins and proteins are made of of amino acids, so enzymes are made up of amino acids. But all proteins are not enzymes. Another way enzymes work are in metabolic change as mentioned in the lab manual (Leady B.,2017). When an enzyme reacts with a substrate an enzyme-substrate complex is made, which in turn makes the products and returns the enzyme. Each enzyme leads to a specific catalyst. The effect pH has on an enzyme is how high or low the pH is, this will allow the enzyme to react faster or slower or not at all. Methods used for Lab 20 were followed in order as the Fundamentals of Life Science Laboratory Manual by B. Leady (Leady B.,2017) instructed on pages 153-162. The same correlation happened with H202 concentration of 3%, only at .5 time it plateaued off into 3.796. As follows with H202 concentration of 6%, it continually increases until time 1.33 where it again plateaus off to 3.795. The last enzyme concentration of H202 12% continuously increased until the time of 2 minutes, with the previous samples, I insinuate that the concentration would plateau off after the 2 minutes. As the rate of reaction increases the substrate concentration increases, as we saw in the experiment. After a period of time the values will plateau
