ThereUnlike many people think, social security does not just benefit older Americans. Today 52 million people receive benefits from social security taxes. When people work they are required to pay social security taxes which are used for retire people, people with disabilities, and dependents of beneficiaries. Social security also supplies people with benefits. Retirements benefits allow people of that are at full retirement age to receive money. If a person is not at a full retirement their benefits will be reduced. There are also disability benefits. If a person is unable to work due to a mental or physical disability they are eligible to apply for benefits. Other benefits also exists such as survivor benefits and divorce benefits, but like
