Is the idea of gay couples raising children frowned down upon due to fact that their sexual orientation will make the child grow up with issues throughout their development stages, or is just the opinion of close minded people? In order to fully comprehend the outcome of a child’s life based on their surroundings, one must first realize that there is more than meets the eye. There are quite a few variables that do need to be taken into account, rather than relying solely on a religious perspective, or somebody’s own psychological thoughts. Besides certain issues such as gender roles, there is also how the parents are mentally wise, the styles of parenting that are used. Taking these variables into account the child goes through certain situations throughout their own development. In doing so, for the benefit of this paper, it will be divided into two different sections. From early childhood to middle childhood (2 to 10 years), and adolescence (10 to 20 years), in order for the readers to see that although it may be wrong for some people based on their upbringing, there is no purpose why same-sex couples cannot raise kids.
