(makes us more aware of what's going on around us) I believe reading makes us more human because it makes us more aware. More aware of what's going on around in the world around us, and makes some people look at the world differently. I think any piece of reading can open your eyes up to new things making you more aware of the opportunities this world may have to offer. The speech “This Is Water” by David Foster Wallace talks about things we do everyday that we don't notice. We all have a morning routine even though people may say they don't they do. The people do not talk to each other, that just isn't considered to be normal. There houses stay dark and they have walls that are TV’s. This is considered to be normal in the world of F451 but obviously it is not considered normal in ours. Montag is so used to his daily routine of going to work burning books and coming back home to mildred. Until one day this girl comes along by the name of clarisse, she's the outside influence that disrupts his “routine”. She makes him more aware in the world of F451, he soon realizes all the wrong he’s been doing. He then breaks his routine which causes a disrupt in the community which later causes the world of F451 to be destroyed by a nuclear bomb. The trial of Susan B Anthony happened because she tried to vote as a women. Back then the world was very anti women. Basically people thought women weren't capable to do the jobs or things a man usually does. In her hearing Susan brought up amazing points, before then women really never spoke up for themselves. She said there was overall unfairness to women and asked the judge/jury to hear her out. She said some amazing things, so amazing it made the judge do a double take and she ended up not getting
