In the play, “The Crucible” one character that is telling the truth is Procter. Although in the play many of the characters have resorted to lying is a way to focus blame on others instead of themselves; Procter has not. This is because Procter is based off of the author; Arthur Miller, because of this it would seem that Arthur tried to make himself seem better than he is, thus he would not write himself as a liar. Another reason you know that Procter is not a liar is because; he has yet to blame an innocent villager of being in the woods. For these reasons it is safe to assume that Procter is the only character that has yet to
