Does Oedipus Escape His Fate

In the Islamic religion, they believe that if it’s meant to be, it will happen. Hence, implying the fact that fate isn’t something that can be escaped or changed. In the Greek classic, Oedipus, the main character, Oedipus, thought he could escape his fate. However, tragedy hits him hard when he learns that fate isn’t something you can just change by yourself. Upon hearing his fate of assassinating his father and wedding his mother and bearing children with her, Oedipus left his home out of the hopes that this will change his horrific fate. On the way from Corinth, Oedipus comes across King Laios of Thebes without knowing that Laios was king, Oedipus proceeded to killing him. “There were three highways coming together at a place I passed;
