Does Music Affect A Cat's Future Behavior?

According to the author of ASPCA, they talk about the population of cats and dogs in shelters across the country. There is estimated to be about 70 million stray cats in the U.S. (ASPCA, 2015) whether a cat is stray or not can affect a cat's future behavior. Cats behavior is affected by the music that is played. The music not only affects the cat’s behavior, but also the mood, and feelings.
A cat's tail and ears can tell a lot about their mood. Their tails can show when they are happy, angry, curious, and nervous. When cats are wagging their tail it means bad. When a cats tail is twitching, it means they’re curious. Usually a cat with a raised tail, and a slightly bent tip, with their ears up high, is happy and friendly. When the tail is wrapped around the cat's body, it either means they’re nervous, and it's a defense position, or, it usually means contentment. The way cat purrs and the way a person pets them can be associated with a cat's mood. A “kitty kiss” is when a cat slowly blinks. If a cat has their eyes half closed it usually means their content. Sometimes cats purr under stress or when recovering from an injury. If they let you rub their belly it conveys happiness. Cats lick each other to groom each other and bond with other cats

A lot of the time, when composers have a mental illness, their music can be a result of it. We may not have a lot of symphonies if composers were treated with antidepressants. “These composers creative activity clearly served as a powerful coping mechanism in the absence of modern psychotropic medications.” Music therapy is actually something doctors are trying to be able to use. Medical centers all over the world are “attempting to establish humanities in medicine programs” Once all the research is done we will see a large growth of music in the medical world. This evidence suggests that music can actually be a big part in the medical world. (Kogan

“Music is the mediator between the life of senses and the life of the spirit.” (Beethoven) The story in the book The Soloist by Steve Lopez is a well-presented plot through which we can learn a lot. While the story of the book can be said to be covering a variety of themes; music, homelessness, mental illness, and friendships, I am of the opinion that the themes of mental illness and music are the base of the story. Nathaniel Ayers suffers from schizophrenia, a mental illness that affects his moods and causes him to have bouts of anger, stay in silence and other times speak incoherently.…

The Connection Between Mental Illness and Artistic Creativity In my UNV Let’s Go Arts class we are beginning to learn how to research and use the library so we can become better writers for papers such as these. For the class, we had to pick a topic and then try to write a rough outline of what we think the paper would sound and look like with quotes from articles and citations. I was having trouble trying to pick out a topic because of the many general ideas I had, mental illness and modern art, for example. I only discovered what I absolutely would love writing about through research about those few general topics.…

Music has been a part of people’s everyday lives for so long. It even evolved in a lot of different ways, then again, not everyone knows how much it actually affects the human mind and body. It doesn’t just make us sing along when we hear some of our favorite songs, it doesn’t just make us dance and groove, but it also has amazing scientific and medical effects. According to neuroscientist and author of This Is Your Brain on Music, Dr. Daniel J. Levitin, when people try to understand what exactly is the meaning of music and where it actually came from, people could have a better understanding on how it affects their motive, desires, memories, fears, and even communication. “Is music listening more along the lines of eating when you’re hungry, and thus satisfying an urge?…
