Schools sell junk food at their campus to make a little more profit. What they don't know is that they are increasing childhood obesity at the same time. .Childhood Obesity was never a problem till 1970. Ever since 1970 childhood obesity has risen rapidly ever since then. Now 18% of all children are considered obese. Although junk food is better tasting and more affordable than healthier alternatives junk food is a key role in child obesity. Instead of having junk food sold at schools they should switch to healthier options because it will lower childhood obesity, kids will have less chronic diseases, and good eating habits will be obtained.
Snack and junk foods should not be sold in schools because it is not healthy for their students. Snack foods pose a great impact on child obesity because instead of getting all the proper nutrients they get from meals kids will snack all day, which in turn makes them less hungry for the important meals. Some will say snacking is better than not eating at all, while it is true that you should eat but you should always make sure what you’re putting in your body is healthy for it.
