Does Individuality Make A Difference?

In this constantly changing world, most people are trying to keep up with all the trends. To retain individuality in this world is a great feat, and should be praised when someone accomplishes it. Being an individual is an accomplishment because people are always trying to pressure others, people are belittled for things they cannot change, and people who are unafraid to stand out are persecuted.
When a new trend comes out many people rush to be a part of what is new; however, many people do not wish to take part in the new trend, but eventually get pressured into it. High school sports are another place that individuality is hard to achieve because the pressure is to be exactly like the best person on that team; even if the person being pressured is a good player, there is always a sense that they should be better. To be a different religion or sexuality is illegal, and will lead to instant death for many people. For example: in most middle eastern countries, to be a christian is a very dangerous thing, even if it is not a crime. ISIS is a big threat to any christian, but an everyday threat to any christian in Iraq, Iran, or any of those countries. If someone is found to be a christian by any member of ISIS they are taken from their homes and beheaded. The same thing happens to any person who is anything other than heterosexual in those same countries; however, homosexuality is a crime in those countries. Many people who wish to go visit a middle eastern country are unable to due to their sexuality and are forced to not live out their dreams or
