Compatibilsm can be defined as the theory is which free will and determinism can exist together. In the situation given, someone who believes in compatibilism might have a response along the lines of just because our brains are mapped out to show how every thing in our lives is already determined, doesn’t mean that we do not have some say in the matter to do otherwise. Unlike the views of an incompatibilist where they believe that both free will and determinism cannot exits together, a compatibilist understands that both can work together to get result. A compatibilist would think without a doubt that humans would have free will. I can honestly say that I’ve never been more confused in my entire life. Before we even started with the lecture on hard determinism, I believed that without a doubt, we have free will. After learning about hard determinism, I was less sure in my beliefs. After the lesson on compatibilism. I was downright unsure of what I thought. It was safe to say that I didn’t know what I didn’t know. When you asked for the class to vote I voted for compatibilism, it was the closest ideology that fit in with what I believed. If I had to say definitely what I thought it be that our actions are our own, but fate pushes
