Does Hamlet Love Ophelia

Hamlet is a story of great proportions, and great love, towards his love, Ophelia. "I loved Ophelia. Forty thousand brothers
Could not with all their quantity of love
Make up my sum." -Hamlet.
Throughout this play Hamlet portrays his love for Ophelia through different ways. Hamlet had a love so deep that it at often times got overlooked in the depths of reality on the fact that what Hamlet was going through things that made him incapable of truly showing and expressing his love for Ophelia until it was too late. "And hath given countenance to his speech, my lord,
With almost all the holy vows of heaven". -Ophelia.
To start early in the story, Ophelia is preaching to her father on the love that Hamlet has shown her. While doing so she states that she feels that Hamlet has always had love for her and every time Hamlet brings up love, he does so in a way that is so respectful and sincere that no one can doubt the truthfulness behind it. Throughout the next couple of monologues, Ophelia backs up her thoughts and feelings to show her father, that Hamlets love is real and in no way wrong or for the wrong reason. In Act 3, scene 1 Hamlet throws a very controversial quote

Hamlet is going through many things and at this time in the day he does not carry mental capacity to be talking to her so it’s not the truth that he’s telling her, but actually craziness and confusion. Ophelia however does not fall for it because she states that she always knew that he loved her, and throughout the story Ophelia knows that Hamlet has a multitude of things going on.
