Divorce causes emotional effects among teenagers as well as the couple. Teens have the most trouble revealing their emotions explicitly. A variety of mediums are used in order to release the pain felt. Many find different ways to cope with the divorce and result in being negative ways. John suggests what the results are of a divorce in a teenager’s life, in What Are the Causes of Teen Violence?, by explaining that “…teens become more aggressive, higher dropout rates, more anxiousness, more sexually active at an early stage, and higher rates of drug and alcohol addiction when dealing with recent family separation.” Not only does divorce put teens in a stressful situation but the process makes them have to mature faster. Teenagers enter the adult world faster by having to take up new responsibilities with the shortage of a parent and taking care of younger siblings. Nurture is also shortened as a result of the parents being tired or fatigued and depressed as well which leads the teen to finds his own ways in life. If that is the case, then the process of obtaining alcoholic drinks will not bother them so much because they already have alcoholic parents at home with bottles and bottles to spare. Excessive alcohol intake leads to a person being addicted to it and just like it changes adults, it can change teenagers as well. Teens will experience more violent and aggressive behaviors. This is where crime will begin to take part in the teen’s life. People around them will start fearing the teen doing something violent around them. Many victims are at stake as it is easy for an alcohol-crazed to commit any given crime the devious brain desires.
