What is a self-driving car? A self-driving car is a car that can drive it self from place to place without a person there at operate it. Self-driving cars were invented on August 1961 by William Bertelsen. We won’t notice self-driving cars on the road until 2020.

A self-driving car is a combination of a bunch of sensors and advanced computers
Vision systems that make it work. Many of the cars use a lidar. A lidar is a Light Detection and Ranging. There is usually a rotating laser on the roof of the car that keeps scanning around the car.
