Introduction: I have chosen two events for my Independent Study: Christmas and the Independence Day. My research work will provide an insight into how Christmas is perceived religiously in Pakistan, an Islamic country and, how Christmas is understood culturally in a Christian nation: The United States of America. Underlying theme: A comparative analysis of celebration and practice of the religious and political festivals, Christmas and the Independence Day- celebrated by the Christian and non-Christian communities in Pakistan and the U.S while investigating the role of media on the practice of these customs:
