Jobs allow those in need to have a stable income and support their own families, arguably the most important step in further developing nations and escaping poverty. Once people can support themselves and no longer rely on organizations to survive, they can start to rise out of poverty. Although outside help is required to start the process, the only way that people can escape extreme poverty is through direct work towards improving their own lives. Therefore, Doctors Without Borders is not only limiting malnutrition and providing survival rights, but is actually changing the presence of poverty and helping these countries to develop by creating production in impoverished areas. Pope Francis has often stated that it is a human requirement to work with the poor and vulnerable and not diminish their human dignity, and this is exactly what Doctors Without Borders is doing.
