As a matter of fact, during the time spent shadowing oral and plastic surgeons, as well as surgical assistants and registered nurses in private consults and in the operating room allowed me not only to learn about medical procedures but to distinguish the differences between both professional schools and establish my career preferences. Certainly, as I started studying the sciences and its different sub-disciplines I was drawn to how the study of natural phenomena applies to the very processes that occur within our bodies. The physicians taught me that as lifelong learners, the required knowledge to practice medicine continually expands not only for the benefit of the physician but primarily, the individuals. Additionally, that in order to fulfill your purpose in life it requires grit, self-discipline, passion, and courage to continue pursuing your goals even when that means moving to another country, learning a new language and starting all over
