It was not until 1964 when the school was given university standing that their current name change came about. Reoccurring themes such as French-Canadian identity, survival, nationalism, and sovereignty span a large period of history and can be applied in both a modern and historical context and are applicable to many peoples, both francophone and others, who have lived in Quebec and in other French speaking areas across Canada. The concept of French-Canadian identity is one that has been constantly evolving, and for that reason it is worthy of much closer examination. This theme is crucial for understanding how the Québécois have viewed themselves throughout history and about how their identity has transformed over time.…

Immigrant women who have spent five years in Canada “have almost twice as many children of pre-school age (as) the average Canadian-born woman,” according to an extensive study by two noted economists. The University of Waterloo’s Ana Ferrer and Princeton University’s Alicia Adsera pored over two decades of Statistics Canada census data to reach their conclusion. In April 1764, Sir James Renell was appointed surveyor-general of the East India Company's domains in Bengal. In the same year he initiated the survey of Bengal, and had worked in Bengal and elsewhere for more than a decade, during which covered an area of about 300,000 square miles for his survey which stretched from the eastern parts of Lower Bengal to Agra and from the Himalayas to the skirts of Bundelkhand and Chota Nagpur. ow do Natural and Human Characteristics Contribute to Canada’s Population Distribution and Density? Natural and human characteristics contribute to Canada’s population distribution and density by influencing the decisions Canadians make on where to live. The climate, inhabitants, and availability of resources are key factors one must take into account before coming to the conclusion of where one wants to live. When one makes the decision on where to live, especially newcomers to Canada, it is imperative they take the chosen area’s climate into consideration. The population pattern in the more northern regions of Canada is sparse, and significantly less populated than southern areas of Canada, such as a neighbourhood in Surrey, BC, because…
