Improved Essays
1. Did you always wanted to have children?
a. Yes, I always wanted a family and kids of my own and have a chance to be the best mother I could be.
2. Were all your children planned?
a. No, 2 were a mistake in a way and the other one was planned. My first child was planned because I just got married and wanted to start a family where as the others kind of just happened, but I wasn’t angry because I loved the thought of having more children.
3. Do you think there is a perfect time in adulthood to have children? Why or why not?
a. Yes, I think early 30’s is probably a good time to have children, so you can be more financially ready, go see the world and to sort your career out before settling down to start a family. If I could turn the clocks back I totally would and done the things I wanted to do whilst I was still young and active, but on the other hand I love the children I have and I might not of had them if I had waited.

Did you at any point want more children? Why or why not?

5. How did you tell you person when you found out you were pregnant?
a. With my first child it was exciting because my husband and I had been trying for so long after marriage but I don’t think I told him in any special way. With my other two children it was the same way, I was excited to be pregnant but we didn’t have a big announcement or anything.
6. Did you have any weird cravings while you were pregnant? Do you still have them?
a. With my first, pickled onions and spicy food were something I craved all the time; I actually tried my first curry while pregnant with her and I still enjoy spicy food

In the article written by Julie Beck entitled “When Are You Really an Adult?” she uses a series of true life accounts to attempt to define when a person becomes an adult and what defines adulthood. She begins with the real life example of Henry David Thoreau and catches the attention of the reader by leading them down the path that she is talking about a current day young man. However, when she reveals she is talking of a young man of years past it is obvious that many different generations struggle with the definition and thought of being an adult. Beck makes it clear that what defines being an adult is not clear, there is no black and white answer. There are many factors leading to whether a person feels they have become an adult.…

No matter what, every single day somebody is being judged and labeled. Whether or not a person is overweight, underweight, mentally challenged, we are all being judged. Furthermore, growing up in a conservative, white, Christian family, has taught me many things about how I am expected to act, as well as which actions are acceptable or unacceptable. My culture and religious views molded me into believing that it was acceptable to judge others and be intolerant of different groups of people. In my family, you were expected to wait until married to have sex, then it was appropriate to have a child.…
