Individual Training Vs Group Training Essay

• Do you learn best in a group or through individual training? Would a mix of the two work for you? • Do you find study groups beneficial? How frequently would you want to meet if so? • Are you a visual, aural, verbal, or kinesthetic learner? Most people are a mix, but all of us are dominant in one over the others. ⁃ Visual learners prefer pictures, diagrams, images, videos, and spatial relationships. They learn by seeing. ⁃ Aural learners prefer spoken words, lectures, podcasts, sounds, rhythm, and music. They learn by hearing. ⁃ Verbal learners prefer words above all else, including both spoken and written words, as well as writing. They learn via vocabulary. ⁃ Kinesthetic (tactile) learners prefer using their hands and body—their …show more content…
What times of the day are best for you? When do you feel the most productive? • • Are you easily distracted, or are you able to focus on tasks for an extended period of time. • • Do you tend to be a rule-follower or a rebel? • • Are you the curious sort who has to chase every rabbit trail, or a "just the facts" type of person? • • Do you have any physical or mental impairments that affect the way you learn or your ability to complete tasks? • • Are you task oriented or goal oriented? • • Do grades matter to you, or are you more concerned about the attainment of knowledge and skills.

Accountability is the final element you should implement in your continuing studies. What motivates you to keep going and not quit when you set yourself on a new course? For some, the simple fact that you 've paid money to enroll in a course is enough to make you see it through. Other times it may be an employer who 's footing the bill, or the promise of potential raises or promotions when you complete your continued

Just like parental involvement is crucial to a child 's education, you can gain great benefit from having a third party who 's looking over your shoulder, checking your progress, encouraging you, and being blunt with you when you start slacking off.

How Badly Do You Want to Improve?
A friend of mine once told a story from his undergrad days. He was a music major and remembers a fellow student—a trumpet player—who was apparently an amazing musician. He was known to practice hour upon hour every single day. It seemed like he was in the practice rooms working hard during every spare moment of his day.
One day my friend and some other students were hanging out in a common area near the practice rooms when this trumpet player walked through.
“Man, I’d give my right arm to play as well as he does,” one student quipped.
“Yeah, but are you willing to practice as much as he does to get it done?” another student

Playing the trombone is one of my greatest skills that I developed over time in my life. I may seem effortless when I play the trombone, but it took me several challenges to get to where I am. When I was in sixth grade, a middle school band inspired me to join band in middle school. With my family being a “fresh off the boat” immigrant, however, I was insecure about myself since I was not much fluent in English. Worse than expected, my first band experience disappointed me.…

According to The Vark learning styles questionnaire the two learning styles that I learn best with best are aural and kinesthetic. Aural means I learn best when hearing the information spoken and by asking questions about the concept I am learning. The other way I learn best is being kinesthetic which means I use my five senses and hands on experiences to help me learn. The Aural side of me likes to remember stories, examples, and jokes, to be to relate them to the concept I am learning. I have found that I when attended class and really focus on what the instructor or professor is teaching I am able to grasp the concept that is being taught.…

I had never received education in the united states so it was kind scaring for me to attend the on line class with Collaborative Learning Community (CLC) Group Project. I was worried about I may not attend the group well and involve others into trouble. I am surprised that I did good in the group. It is a good experience to work with others who have different culture and I did learn something new from the CLC group project. The problem was we had schedule and it was hard to contact people right away and everyone had their own opinions and points so communication was a very important element to deal with the project.…

When I was growing up and my brother attended high school, I always enjoyed going to Friday night football games and watching the best part of the game: the halftime show. While I sat in the stands, my brother would be marching sets, creating intricate formations and blasting his trumpet at fortissimo. I dreamed to be a part of the sets of formations and play difficult music at rapid tempos. Once I entered middle school, I immediately signed up for band and assigned to play the oboe, a woodwind instrument in the double reed family and, arguably, one of the most difficult instruments to master. I didn’t know then, but I later found out that this activity would push me out of my comfort zone and learn not only challenging sonatas and melodies, but also life skills I would need to achieve my goals.…

"Good better best, never let it rest, 'till your good is better and your better is best." These simple words were spoken to me by my high school band director Cheldon Williams on the first day of my high school experience. This, followed by my experience of marching band and my eventual learning of piano sparked a period of introspective thought, and mental growth, that transcended to where I am today. Never in my life did I think my hard work and dedication inspired by Mr. Williams words would land me at Interlochen Center for the Performing Arts Boarding School. These words became a core part of what I am, and from freshman year on would encourage me to never set a limit on my potential, and my overall worth.…

Therefore, my teacher explained to me I was a kinesthetic learning I have a sense of feeling of it and seeing it visually instead of it just being auditory. I can use my learning style in college because when I am unsure of what the professor may ask, I may ask her to draw a picture when explaining. Most professors, I know are visual learners, thus most of their lessons are all in PowerPoint or they use the Smart Board when teaching. Overall, the professors at Broward College are very understanding. They recognize that every student learns a different and I really appreciate the different learning styles…

NHS should consist of a wide diversity of students using their differences to ratify the expectations of the world around them. To receive the change this school deserves, members must be willing to take risks, devote time, and remain dedicated to fulfilling these acts. My experience has been interesting, positive, and at the same time rewarding. My very first experience with working in group was couple of years ago during a final year project, in my country of birth. The project was in community medicine, and involved repeated trip to a rural community by my group to access their health status, and needs. We had many challenges, but overcame them all as a group. I learnt the act of collaboration, critical thinking, problem solving, decision making by consensus building, and most importantly; comradeship.…

Not all learning styles can fit into a specific situation, there are times when a kinesthetic style is better than an aural. By becoming proficient in all learning styles, I would become flexible in all learning situations. The student should be able to shift towards the professors teaching styles in addition to exceling in their learning environment. Now, I work the best with the aural, kinesthetic, and read/write learning styles, with the weakest like being the visual learning style. By taking the content learned to the next level by shifting it across learning styles, I would gain a greater understanding towards it.…

Learning is multidimensional. Very seldom will a learner use just one type of learning style. There are four different learning styles: Visual, aural, read/write, kinesthetic and multimodal. Multimodal is a combination of two or more of the learning styles. Those who are multimodal in their preferences can be more flexible about how they take in and give out information than those with a VARK profile that emphasizes a single preference.…

Introduction In this reflection, I will focus on some important topics such as, what I learned about individual and business taxation from this course, what was my experience with the group project and what were the challenges that I faced during both the group project and this course. I am also going to add some main overall points that I learned. Tax is generally an amount of money that is charged by a government on a product, income, or activity so that it can pay for public services. In addition, there are several very common types of taxes: • Income Tax (a percentage of individual or corporate earnings filed to the government) • Sales Tax (taxes charged on certain goods and services) • Property Tax (taxes charged on the value of land…
