Do Video Games Affect Physical Health?

Is it surprising to know that 97% of American ages 12 to 17 play video games? The video games are for any age and any language. It’s essential to look closely at how video games can alter physical health. There are two points of view to this situation related to how video games can affect physical well-being. Being over-involved with video games will change physical health in a harmful way.
To start this investigation, too much time on video games causes the lack of sleep causing depression and loss of long term memory. As stated by Matthew Edlund, “Teens need adequate deep and REM sleep to rebuild a long term memory”. This is important because when a person plays video games for12 hours, he is not going to be focused and when he drives it is going to be dangerous. Video games

As stated by Joseph Green, “they hold their body in one position for hours. They perform the same movement over and over.” Repeated movements over long time such as using the control on video games can cause atrophy, pain, stress, and strain and pain. To continue this point, it seems that “in many cases, the pain doesn’t last” says Green. But what if it does? People can end up in the hospital or the pain might be permanent or require a surgery. Video games affect your muscles,too. We need to have a healthy and strong neck and flexibility in the elbow and wrist to enjoy an active, healthy life. It is true that there are benefits from video games, such as improvement in eye-hand coordination. There are other ways to improve eye-hand coordination without paying video games. For example, shooting baskets, playing baseball and soccer. The serious health problems from playing video games too much are real and dangerous for your physical
