Do school dress codes discriminate against female students? School boards should reconsider dress codes that focus on restricting female clothes because equality is a critical topic in society, and the change in rules will help female students feel more confident about their bodies. The human body is extremely sexualized, especially regarding the female body. Females are oftentimes harshly judged based on the clothes they wear, a prime example of this is seen in the school setting. I plan to address the psychological effect dress codes have on all students by asking them about their opinion on their school’s dress code.
