I appreciate Allen West’s perception in "Do Only Black Liberal Lives Matter? I Despise This Hypocrisy. West is concerned for the police officers who have lost their lives trying to stop black criminals. West believes that these cops dying at the hands of black criminals is just as important as black lives matter. It seems he believes that the black lives matter campaign is hypocritical to ignore the other lives lost due to the actions of some black criminals. However, I believe West is missing the point from an article I read the black criminal was most likely waiting on a life sentence for killing an officer and that he should. The police officer is expected to protect lives thus, they must put others before themselves. Still, in none of the stories I read did a cop shoot to immobilize the culprit rather he shot to kill , though there were sensible safe alternatives. This happens increasingly more than a cop getting shot. On top of that why does the cop who should be able to serve the community appropriately end up taking an innocent life from the community? Which is simply justified by he was doing his job. Thus, are you not at fault for doing your job wrong and exhibiting more criminal behavior than a police officer should. The author is right to be voicing concern over our police officers but he is missing the point. We have acknowledge the hero’s that have died for a criminals unethical actions as well as the courtrooms. Justice has been served many criminals have been sent to jail for life sentences. We run this campaign because justice is not served when it pertains to a black life that is clearly innocent; because a police officer can kill a black boy and get away with it as a minor charge. We protest for “ black lives matter” because certain legislation is being allowed to condone injustice practices . Similar to how our ancestors protested for civil rights, we protest now for
