Do Not Judge By Appearance I have had many people stop me and ask “what do your tattoos mean?”, “Do you understand what that will look like when you’re old?”, “you’re such a pretty girl why would you wreck your imagine with tattoos?” and etc. Many people give me looks of scorn because I have tattoos and piercings. I work 2 part time jobs, go to school, church, am as active in my community as much as possible, babysit/nanny as often as possible, and am family/friend oriented. Never once have I been arrested, never gotten into any type of fight, or knowingly disobeyed the law, I have yet to be pullover or given a ticket while driving a vehicle. These tattoos seem to make people think that I am bad or dangerous. Having tattoos does not make me …show more content…
I understand that they will be faded, wrinkly and they probably hard to tell what they are or what they say. That’s a risk I am willing to take. I am tattooing important things on my body, why would I regret putting them there. I carefully plan out my tattoos, what they will say, what they will look like, and the placement. I cannot regret something that means so much to me and something that I have put so much time and planning into. I will never regret any of my tattoos regardless of my age.
My last point is religion shouldn’t prevent one from having tattoos. John 7:24; Do not judge by appearance, but judge by righteous judgement. People always have told me that the bible states we as Christians cannot get tattoos. The bible also states that we can’t get piercings, cut our hair, or deface our body in anyway. Using the bible or religion to try to guilt me about my tattoos will not work. I think as long as I have my faith in God and express it by going to church, praying, etc. Then it should not matter what I have on my body. As I have expressed it is my body and I shall do as I want with it. My faith with God has nothing to do with what is on my body. Religion should not stop one from doing as they want with their

Even Ancient Cultures Thought Tattoos Were Cool If you have a tattoo today, chances are that someone told you that you were making a mistake putting the ink on your body forever. Tattoos can be seen as; a fashion trend, a commitment to an organized group (such as a military branch or a street gang), a symbolic act of remembrance, a rebellious act by a teenager trying to prove a point to their parents, etc. The lesser known fact behind tattooing however, is that is an art that has been practiced since the neolithic period. Tattoos can be found in nearly every culture across the globe, and many cultures have thousand-plus year histories with the art.…

Harper Lee once said “You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view… until you climb inside of his skin and walk around in it.” This problem still happens today, everyone judges a person without evening knowing them. When someone judges someone with tattoos and piercings they automatically think he is a bad guy but that isn’t always true. Their point of view can be totally wrong but they would never know. They will never get to truly know the person because their point of view shows them as bad people.…

Tattoos and why they should not be considered deviant Humans have marked their bodies with tattoos for thousands of years. These permanent designs, sometimes plain, sometimes elaborate, always personal markings have served as amulets, status symbols, declarations of love, signs of religious beliefs, adornments and even forms of punishment. Prior to my research I had no idea where the tattoo even originated from? Which is ironic because neither does anyone else. The history of the tattoos are very hard to trace.…

Many people are becoming more aware of this. Daniel Genis writes, “Culturally, the atmosphere has changed as well. This is so undeniably true today in our culture. Although there are still some hesitant people out there, the majority have come to terms with the fact that even if a person has a tattoo it does not necessarily link them to negative aspects or disgrace of life.…
