For this case, Frederick has not acted intelligently he did nothing to protect his idea and there for lost it. For Frederick not to say he deserved to have his idea stolen however he did very little if anything to protect it, he was young naive and taken advantage of. He did not have a patent on his invention nor did he have a copyright for his idea. The business part of me says that Frederick would more than likely have to fight through years of court proceedings for an idea he can't prove is his. The only way it could be proven that the idea was originally his would be if his prior professors confessed to have stolen it, which isn't likely.
