I believe that students should be allowed to have a cellphone fat certain times of the day for their own personal use. I feel if kids had their phones with them at school it could help them stay safe in multiple situations and could help them communicate with their family if they don't have an other methods to do so. In certain situations having a phone nearby for your use could be quite useful, in situations like lockdowns and such because of a hurricane, earthquake, etc. you could use the phone to communicate with your parents and inform them about what happened and tell them that you're okay and you could also use it to call for help in case of an emergency.…

I think phones should be allowed in school, we may not have to be on them all the time but we should at least be able to have them incase we need to call someone or if we have free time in a class we could play games, listen to music, or use google, dictionary.com, and an example of is our history book is online and at school sometimes there’s not enough chromebooks or Ipads. Mobile devices are kind of like a drug that children, teens, and young adults can’t seem to put down and that’s not always a good thing. The reason this isn’t always a good thing is because some kids don’t go outside and play, hang out with friends or know how the real world works, most kids would rather play video games and be in a virtual world. The kids that are so addicted to electronics end up nowhere because they don’t know how to deal with real people in life. In article #1 it says “ Lets turn this into a learning device and maybe eventually teens will see it more than just a device for entertainment.”…

Teens lives today revolve around the cell phone. Whether it’s to text, call, post something or snapchat someone, teenagers have their phones in their hands the majority of the day; this is made very clear in “Half of Teens Think They’re Addicted to Their Smartphones” by Kelly Wallace. Many parents and grandparents will complain about this saying that kids never interact or go outside like they did back in the day; while teenagers today probably don’t do the same things our grandparents did, I think you have to look at the world we were raised in. Nowadays, all kids know are electronics, so it is what we use. If our parents had cell phones when they were kids they would have been just as bad.…

Nowadays, children spend more time on their phones, and watching TV rather than outside exploring new things. Natural play is often a blend of materials and experiences intended to create complex interplays using objects in the surroundings. The example of Henry David Thoreau serves as a good one for children today because they tend to be playing video games, watching YouTube videos of other kids playing outside activities rather than doing it their selves.
