This book initially began as a commentary on my Facebook page, entitled, “Do Animals Go to Heaven?” It was the product of a question asked of me by our church youth. Several within the adult congregation disagreed with me. However I presented scripture as well as sound teachings. When I asked what their scriptural denial to my stance was, the reply I received was, “It’s in there somewhere,” referring to the Bible. Their incorrectly held beliefs were based on personal “feelings” and a failure or refusal to read the Bible. Their difference with my stance was due to flawed doctrinal traditions and false assumptions on their part. Where did they get these traditions and how did they come to these conclusions? I do not know. However, …show more content…
In Proverbs 12:10 we see that a righteous man regards the life of his beast. The righteous are compassionate to all God 's creatures since, in doing so, they come closest to emulating the God who cares not for oxen only, but for all mankind too
The Book of Job 5:23 describes a day when humankind will be at peace with nature: “For you shall be in league with the stones of the field, and the beasts of the field shall be at peace with you.” In addition Isaiah 11:6-9 expressively portrays how the animals will be incorporated in the blessings of peace on earth when it is attained: “The wolf shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid, and the calf and the young lion ... and the lion shall eat straw like the ox. ... They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord”.
Then is Psalms 23:1-4; John 10:1-15; Luke 15:3-7, we see what is probably the best example of men caring for animals; the shepherds. The Psalm verse is a verse of Trust thus indicating to us that we should treat the animals with and attitude that instills trust in mankind. This is much like the sheep which are weak and cannot defend themselves. The Shepard or caregivers know each sheep individually, lead them to food and water, protect them from enemies, and seek after them if they go astray. [Psalms 78:52; Isaiah 40:11; …show more content…
Is not Mark a man of science? Others of you are smiling because you have sat in on my classes and you already know precisely my reasoning.
When God created the universe He gave it a mass that was necessary for life to exist. If there were less mass in the universe, only lighter elements such as helium would be produced. If there were more mass, only heavier elements, such as iron, would be produced. The mass of the universe had to be precise to create a life supporting planet. Further an exact mass for the universe is necessary for the formation of our sun and the solar system.
Then we have the expansion of the universe. If the universe expands any faster than it does then stars and solar systems would have never formed. Any slower and our universe would be dominated but black holes and giant suns. The mass of the universe in finely-tuned to allow for life. When we speak of fine-tuning, even the amount of light and electromagnetic radiation is “just right” to support life. For a planet to support life it must have the right mixture of elements, the right kind of sun and just the right kind of solar system to support life. We have that all here and it is not here by coincidence.
