Every time I go I was having to bring mountains of paperwork and fill out mountains of paperwork. The worst part of this paperwork nightmare is that if I had a paper missing I would not be able to test. It happened to me where I had forgotten my birth certificate and had to come back a week later for my permit test.
The worst problem is the hefty price tag that comes with every trip to the DMV. In Connecticut the DMV’s are known for their outrageous prices compared to its neighboring states. For my learners permit it cost sixty dollars for a twenty five question online test. The price of the actual permit was fifteen dollars. My road test cost eighty dollars along with the fifteen dollar license. If I had failed the test I would have had to pay a forty dollar fee and reschedule the test. The prices are ridiculously it felt like I paid with an arm and a leg. While driving is a wonderful key to freedom, dealing with the DMV makes the experience miserable. With all the hoops you have to jump through and the miserable people I avoid the DMV as much as possible.
