Divorce gives people a bad image in their mind. The tearing apart of a marriage and maybe even a family is the only thing that people see and think of when divorce is mentioned. Most people wouldn’t believe that there is a positive side to divorce. But sometimes divorce is the best option for the child, especially if they hear and see the emotional and mental abuse that two people, who are unhappy, can cause each other. Divorce does have its share of negative effects, but the positive things that can come from it can almost out-weigh the negative. Divorce may change the structure of a family, but sometimes change is good.
The definition of divorce, according to the dictionary, is a judicial declaration dissolving a marriage in whole or in part, especially one that releases the marriage partners from all matrimonial obligations (Dictionary). That may be the dictionary version of what divorce is, but a definition doesn’t begin to describe the effects of divorce.
