Divine intervention can come from nature. A paraglider by the name of Wisnierska, was almost killed by nature. She became caught in an updraft headed toward a thunderstorm. The high altitude gave her no oxygen and the storm froze her body completely in ice. She passed out for forty minutes, but was able to regain consciousness and land safely (Smit 9). The divine in this case spares her from the forces of nature and allows her to stay alive for those forty minutes. Divine intervention can also come in one other way: human interaction. Vega and Jules were shot at six times by a surprise enemy hidden in the bathroom. The divine somehow causes the man to miss all of his shots at point blank range. Human divine intervention then further opens the conversation on luck or divine control. If divine intervention is based on the Bible, then human related divine intervention is impossible. “God created humans in his image. Unlike animals, which act mainly on instinct, we resemble our Creator in our capacity to display such qualities as love and justice. And like our Creator, we have free will” (Genesis 1:26). Since humans control themselves, then the divine can not influence humans to save another human. Divine intervention does exist, and gives one a chance to change one’s life. Pulp Fiction’s underlying theme is that the strange and random happen, but it is one’s responsibility to take advantage. Everyone experiences miracle events in their lifetimes. Some just happen to happen and some have a greater meaning. The way one reacts to those greater events is one who is actively creating his or her own path. He or she may please the divine and change in their favor. He or she may go against what the divine want from them. Although the divine may be powerful enough to cause miracles, they are not strong enough to control
