Rhetorical Analysis Of Steve Bucherati's Speech

In large corporations managing all of the many aspects of cultural diversity is no easy task. If a company wants to thrive, it must be able to include talent from all types of people (Bucherati). Many people mistake diversity for just race, but diversity includes all differences, such as, income, gender, sexual orientation, ideologies, and most known, race. There are many ways a company can go about utilizing all people, and diversifying their company; however there are some limitations, and sacrifices a company must make to remain so profitable. There is no way a large corporation can please everyone in the world. No matter how diverse a company tries to be it cannot control governmental decisions, and as a result there will be some negative view on the company. The speech began with him talking about the points he was going to cover throughout the speech. Outlining what he was going to talk about was extremely useful because it let the audience know what to expect, so they could prepare themselves to soak up as much knowledge as possible from the speech. By creating an outline, he was able to eliminate logical inconsistencies, and ensure his points were all well supported (O’Hair 171). After outlining his main points, he shared the first of many great stories relating to his work at Coca Cola. He talked about how he has traveled all over the world and seen and met nearly every type of person there is. There were many new faces and types of people, but he worked with Coke to ensure that all people had equal opportunity to work at Coca Cola. Personal stories are a useful tool to engage the audience, and direct their attention to the speaker (O’Hair 220). His story about traveling the world, and working to include all diversities of people in Coke did just that, it engaged me, and directed my attention onto his
