Good intentions are always something a workplace would like, but conflicts can still be existent. I have spoken to some hiring managers about diversity and 2/6 of them feel that diversity training isn’t necessary because it’s like a punishment. They feel that people should be able to make their own choices and decision. They don’t realize they are jeopardizing the safety in their own workplace. Teamwork isn’t even established being of conflicting diversity. Diversity training isn’t something that required encouraging or stereotyping others. The positive intention of diversity training is to develop understanding, inspire, and unity in the workplace. Any policies that are posted about race-ethnic reference, slurs, gender, jokes, bullying, etc. are the reasons for dismissal. That’s one practical way to develop workplaces undivided by gender and race-ethnicity. Role reversal and having participants that makes belittling comments or slurs causes perpetrated scares and demote individuals rather than promoting
