According to Windsor, Shorkey & Battle (2015), the importance of the Diversity & Social Justice Scale (DOS) scale in social work education is “to assess social work students’ self-reported learning in diversity and oppression courses”. The Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) as part of the Educational Policy and Accreditation Standards (EPAS) requires certain standards of competencies to be met for social work practice. As discussed by Windsor et al. (2015), social work professional foundational premise is focused on the promotion of social justice and providing services to oppressed and culturally diversified populations. Other aspects of social work practice is the undertaking of eliminating oppression, discrimination and poverty
