To me exposure to diversity is nothing but dealing with people who are raised in different environment and different situation. Being raised in India and settling in United States after accomplishing my master’s education provided me unique touch of diverse global environment. Even after joining industry, I was fortunate to receive opportunity to work on projects from Australia, Japan, Brazil, UK etc. While working for a company having offices in more than 100 counties, dealing with clients and colleagues worldwide provided me chance to understand different cultures, their belief and life style.
I have friends from various different culture like Chinese, Australian and European. Moreover my PhD advisor is from Vietnam and co-advisor is from Thailand origin. From my experience I can conclude confidently that human beings are the same no matter which cultural value they belong too. The environment she has been raised it is very obvious to learn swimming in childhood whereas, the city I have spent my initial 15 years of age didn’t have a single swimming pool at that time! Despite of being raised from a small city, I received admission into a best college and received a gold medal in final year. While working as a lecturer in Government Engineering college, I was dealing with students from different states. In India, all states have their own native language, own clothing style, own food and way of living.
