This protects the animals from being killed when it’s not there season. Some seasons are Duck, Dear, Wild Turkey, Mosses and more. This keeps the species population under control because if there is an over population of that species there won’t be enough wood for those animals and they will die off from starving. Some rules being that during the season you can only hunt one deer.
Canada had encouraged the hunting of Geese because they are over populating. The geese at one point where endangered but they populated so much that they began to damage land and move into more civilian areas. When this happened it was encouraged to begin to hunt geese to keep their population at a controlled rate. It is estimated there are at least 7 million Canada geese present. To help limit deer damage they allow them to be hunted under certain permits. Over the past 30 years, especially the past decade, populations of white-tailed deer have increased dramatically throughout the Northeast (Paul D. Curtis 1). The white tail deer when from 20,000 to more than a million. This could be harmful to both humans and other deer’s because with a population increase like that then that means lest food for the deer’s and that they will start moving into civilian areas which is unsafe for both the deer and pedestrians. Now that hunting of deer is more encouraged to help control the population and make sure they don’t increase too
