Are there particular organizations that you liaise with when you are working with such clients?

Brian: I have a few community partners I work with depending on what their need is. I have been working a lot of ATM the last month or so especially since we moved here, we have been having those discussions of what does us partnering more look like. That has been good and I am pretty connected with all of the other employment agencies in town.

Sometimes, for whatever reason, client get connected better with different personalities and stuff and I am pretty easy to admit that what you and I have isn’t working, it’s not you it's probably my style, so let's connect you with somebody who will get you forward. Interviewer: From your perspective, as changes in policy's and services have occurred, how well have the needs of persons experience and long term unemployment been attended to?

Brian: I guess the problem with the employment material, is it's fully depended on, I guess they look at three months as the targeted in and out kind of scenario of most people. So, I guess just the way it was rated, like funded kind of dictates that and long term isn’t really supported in that capacity. I do find there is often a lot of policy's that hinder job search, like even just being the wait time on employment insurance is ridiculous. People fall into the hole very quickly at that

I know, I have had times where I had a client who got into gambling pretty heavily and the client sounded like he was debating, is it still worth living at this point.
Which then, obviously, I had a whole other conversation instead of skills, but that is a reality and to be always looking for those signs too and those triggers of are you thinking of killing yourself? I have had that conversation a number of times and it's when people are feeling absolute desperation and there is no other egg then other than that and we obviously get them the right supports. So it can go from everything from, it’s a little tough paying the bills this week to its just not working.

I have also had martial breakdowns as well and I have a client now that is going through messy divorces because one spouse that was making the money, isn’t making any now. It's just a reality and I guess all of those supports, I am an employment consultants, I'm not a counselor so helping them connect to the right sources and making them support referrals and
